Contractors Details
The proposed Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar via Ramu railway line will be a Single-Track Dual Gauge (DG) rail line approximately 103.477 km in length with provisions of future double-tracking. As per the Consultant’s understanding, the TOR Bangladesh Railway has divided the total construction work into two Lots.
For Lot-1, the contractor is CT joint venture (which consists of China Railway Group Limited & Toma Construction and Company Ltd.)
China Railway Group Limited is known as CREC whose parent company China Railway Engineering Corporation is a Chinese Construction Company. CREC holds a large share of the Chinese construction market and participates in many large-scale infrastructure projects overseas (especially in countries in Southeast Asia and Africa). In addition to the core business of construction, the company does business in surveying and designing, installation, manufacturing. R&D, technical consulting, capital management as well as international economic and trade activities.
Toma Construction and Co. Ltd. (TCCL) a concern of “Toma Group of Companies” has established the tradition of ‘Best Management Practices’ in construction industry through integrity, trustworthiness and high quality works. TCCL has always tried to maintain the highest degree of excellence in construction with quality commitments since 1996. The Company is specialized in the construction and maintenance of Railway Track, Sleepers, Bridges and ancillaries, Bridges, Flyovers, Roads and Highways and underpasses.
For Lot-2, the contractor is CCECC-MAX C JV (which consists of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) and Max Infrastructure Limited.)
CCECC was established in June 1979 under the approval of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. The business activities of CCECC have expanded to over 40 countries and regions where more than 20 overseas offices or subsidiaries have been established. By undertaking numerous key projects covering railways, highways, bridges, buildings, and municipal works in its overseas markets, and with its excellent performance and quality service, CCECC has won many national titles and honors.
MAX as a group of companies diversified its business, railway construction including manufacturing of track fittings, infrastructure development, power generation and developing infrastructure in the power sector and manufacturing and trading of consumer products. Founded in 1982, based in Bangladesh, MAX is the largest railway track construction company in Bangladesh. It owns all modern mechanical equipment for track laying and maintenance of railway tracks.
