Cox’s Bazar rail project work progressing fast @ The New Nation on 01 March, 2021

The work of Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar-Ghumdum railway project has been completed by 51 percent. Now the work of installing the railway track is undergoing .. Project officials said that they would complete the work of installing the railway track before the rainy season.

On Thursday last, the work started from Panir Chhara Bazar area of Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar.

This railroad is being laid where the earthworks are finished.
Cox’s Bazar Railway Project Director Mofizur Rahman told that rainy season ahead. It is not possible to work at this time. So I want to finish the work of laying the railway track before the monsoon. This work will move towards Dohazari from Ramu point.

According to sources, the government’s mega project is expected to be completed by December 2022. The overall work progress of this project has been 51 percent. The progress of earth filling work for the construction of the railway line has been 80 percent.

Out of 9 station buildings of the project, construction of 5 is nearing completion. Abou 60% works out of 145 culverts are underway .
Of the 39 bridges, 30 are 80 percent complete. The state-of-the-art iconic building under construction in Cox’s Bazar almost 20 percent complete. Work has been completed of two underpasses for elephant movement in the forest.

If this railway starts its journey through rapid construction, there will be huge revenue in the economy and tourism sector with the whole country including Dhaka-Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar.
Besides, it will also play a very important role in increasing revenue in tourism sector tourism sector and will also improve the socio-economic condition of the people of the region. Three big bridges will be built over Sangu, Matamuhuri and Bankkhali rivers.
