Bangladesh Railway has started selling tickets for the new train ‘Cox’s Bazar Express’ on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route.
On Thursday (November 23) morning, ticket sales began at the iconic Cox’s Bazar railway station. Later, long lines of passengers were seen to buy tickets.
Cox’s Bazar station master Golam Rabbani said, “Tickets for December 1, 2 and 3 are being sold both online and at the railway station from 8 am. People from all over the country are buying train tickets online. Today (Thursday) around 10:30 am, he said, Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar All tickets are sold out and some tickets are still available for Cox’s Bazar to Dhaka route”.
He also said that the first train will start from Cox’s Bazar at 12:40 PM on December 1.
Golam Rabbani said that initially the ticket counters have been opened with manpower and other services will be added gradually.
It should be noted that on the morning of November 11, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 102 km railway from Dohazari in Chittagong to Cox’s Bazar via Ramu. Through this, Cox’s Bazar became the 48th district of Bangladesh Railway Network after about 13 and a half years of project approval.
