The long-awaited Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar railway line is being launched on December 1, avoiding complications like bending of the line due to natural calamities and long process of repairing the old bridge. On that morning, the passenger train from the capital Dhaka via the port city of Chittagong will reach the tourist town of Cox’s Bazar. Rent from 515 to a maximum of two thousand 36 taka. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will officially inaugurate this railway on November 11 after the trial run on November 7.
A hundred kilometers long railway line from Dohazari in South Chittagong to Cox’s Bazar is now visible. Along with that, the stations of the journey are also visible. Railway lines bent due to natural calamity floods have already been fixed. The repair work of Kalurghat bridge is going on fast. 6 coaches with engines have been kept ready at Dohazari station for the trial run.
The trial run will finish soon. Then the Prime Minister will officially inaugurate on November 11. But you have to wait till December 1 to board the passenger train.
6 names of Prabal, Himchhari, Cox’s Bazar, Inani, Labani and Saint Martin have also been sent to the ministry for the trains running on this route.
Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said, ‘How many trains will travel on this route has not been decided yet. However, a decision will be taken soon after the inauguration.’
This railway line of Dhaka-Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar is opening a new horizon for the tourism industry. In the first phase, the first train will leave Dhaka at 9:10 PM. It will reach Cox’s Bazar at 6:30 am via Chittagong. Later at 1 pm the same train will leave Cox’s Bazar for Dhaka via Chittagong. Will reach the capital by 9:30 pm.
FBCCI president Mahbubul Alam said, ‘If the communication system is made easy, the tourism industry will develop. Especially the number of foreign tourists will increase several times.
In addition to passenger trains, if cargo trains are started, it will be easier to bring and take goods from Matarbari deep sea port. It will also help to build various types of industrial factories in South Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar.
Chairman of International Business Forum SM Abu Taiyab said, ‘This rail route will bring a radical change in communication. And business is inextricably linked with communication system. When the cost and time of transportation are reduced, it is only a matter of time before industrial factories are built.’
This railway is being implemented by spending about 18 thousand crore rupees. Fares are suggested: non-AC upholstered chair Tk 515, AC seat Tk 948, AC cabin Tk 1,363 and AC berth Tk 2,36 from Dhaka.
