Finally, the dream train journey from the capital Dhaka to the tourist city of Cox’s Bazar is starting. Tomorrow Friday for the first time non-stop train ‘Cox’s Bazar Express’ will leave Dhaka for Cox’s Bazar. Through this, commercial trains are starting to run on this route. On this occasion, the opening ceremony has been organized in two parts, one in Cox’s Bazar and the other in Dhaka Railway Station.
Railway Secretary Humayun Kabir will be the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of ‘Cox’s Bazar Express’ at Cox’s Bazar iconic railway station at 11:30 am today. And Kamrul Ahsan, Director General of Railways will exchange greetings with the passengers of this train and talk to journalists at Dhaka Railway Station in Kamlapur. This information was given in the invitation letter sent to the media from the Ministry of Railways on Wednesday.
Cox’s Bazar Express ticket sales started from Dhaka Railway Station on November 23. Station master Mohammad Anwar Hossain said that advance tickets have been sold from December 1 to 3. Demand for tickets was high from the start.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the newly constructed 102 km railway from Dohazari to Cox’s Bazar on November 11. And the railway from Chittagong to Dohazari is already operational. Cox’s Bazar Express will leave for Cox’s Bazar from Dhaka’s Kamalapur at 10:15 tomorrow night. On the way it will stop only at Dhaka Airport Station and Chittagong Station. On the other hand, on the same day, the train will leave Cox’s Bazar at 12:40 PM and reach Dhaka at 9:10 PM. Train number 814 from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar will leave every night and the weekly closing day is Monday. And train number 813 from Cox’s Bazar to Dhaka will leave at the same time every day, it will be closed on Tuesday.
