One more train on Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route is awaiting approval

Another train on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route is awaiting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s approval. Another train will be started on this railway once the Prime Minister approves it.

According to the relevant sources, a proposal of the train with these three names – Palangki, Tarang, Prabal Express – has been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office. Due to the increasing demand of tourists, the railway authorities have decided to run another train. It will leave Kamalapur at 6:30 am and reach Cox’s Bazar at 3 pm. It will leave Cox’s Bazar at 8 pm and reach Dhaka at 4:30 am.

The long-time dream of residents of Greater South Chittagong including Cox’s Bazar became a reality on December 1. On this day, the passenger train ‘Cox’s Bazar Express’ was officially launched on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar railway. After that this route became very popular. Tourists demanded to increase the number of trains.

Railway authorities say that due to the incredible response of the passengers, it has been decided to start another train on this route.

Director General of Railways. Kamrul Ahsan told Independent Television, “Although we have a shortage of locomotives and coaches due to the huge passenger demand, we still want the passengers to get better service.”

Eastern Railway said a summary has been sent to the Prime Minister with several suggested names for the new trains. The train will start after approval. All preparations have already been completed.

Chief Operating Superintendent of Eastern Railway. Shahidul Islam told Independent, ‘The proposal has been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office. There is no approval from there yet. Due to which the next 1 date may not be possible. We will fix the date only after approval.’

This train will be operated with new coaches brought from Korea. It will have a total of 780 seats in 16 compartments. This train will run 6 days a week except Sunday.
