It is reported that the first trial run of the newly constructed railway from Chittagong’s Dohazari to Cox’s Bazar has been scheduled for November 7 instead of November 2.
The experimental train with 7 rake (coach) composition with 1 new engine from Dohazari station will travel on the new 102 km route of the newly constructed Cox’s Bazar route on November 7. After reaching Cox’s Bazar, the train will return to Chittagong’s Dohazari.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister announced the inauguration of the new Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar railway line in a public meeting at Anwara on October 28. In his speech, the Prime Minister said regarding the implementation and inauguration of several projects for the development of Chittagong, the work of upgrading the highway 6 line is starting. The Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar railway line will be inaugurated soon. I will go to Cox’s Bazar for the inauguration.
In this regard, Additional Project Director of Cox’s Bazar Railway Project Engineer Muhammad Abul Kalam Chowdhury said that the work of Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar railway line has been completed. We rode the trolley several times. The trial train will run on November 7 instead of the 2nd date. The journey to Cox’s Bazar will be started from Dohazari station on November 7. Meanwhile, the repair work of Kalurghat Bridge has also progressed a lot. Trains will be operational before November 7.
Additional Project Director Engineer Muhammad Abul Kalam Chowdhury said that the Prime Minister will inaugurate on November 12 after the trial run. The opening date is fixed. Some of our stations have already been completed. Dohazari, Satkania, Lohagara, Harbang, Chakria, Dulahazara, Islamabad, Ramu and Cox’s Bazar stations will have computer based interlock signal system and digital telecommunication system. Construction of 251 culverts along with 39 bridges and underpasses have been completed on railway from Dohazari to Chakria and Chakria to Cox’s Bazar. Meanwhile, the schedule for the launch of some new trains on the Dhaka-Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar routes has been sent to the Dhaka Railway Building from the office of the General Manager of Eastern Region.
