Commuter trains are being launched from Chittagong to Cox’s Bazar on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar railway route. There are two direct Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar trains running on this route. These are ‘Cox’s Bazar Express’ and ‘Tourist Express’. Two daily commuter trains will start running on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar route from February. The train will depart from Cox’s Bazar and reach Chittagong through several stations including Ramu, Eidgaon, Dulahazara, Chakaria, Harbang, Dohazari.
A railway line was constructed up to Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar in Chittagong for Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar direct rail communication. At the same time, the iconic railway station was built in Cox’s Bazar. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated this railway and railway station on November 11 last year. On December 1, the first train ‘Cox’s Bazar Express’ made a commercial journey on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route. After a month, another train ‘Tourist Express’ was added to this route.
